PATH TO ZION PODCAST

Paul shared with the Philippians his struggle to desire to be with both them and the Messiah. He longed for the greater (departing the Church and being in the presence of the King) yet wrestled with remaining alongside them, for their good. Some people can relate to this and see this as a valuable principle to apply as we walk alongside the brethren in the here and now - denying our own desires for the sake of establishing the Kingdom.

Just like in the natural, spiritual endeavors cost us something. Time, effort, discipline. We must mature and become learned students - learning from our patterns and experiences. Today, let us be found as ones who are willing to train ourselves to count the cost, in order for sanctification to continue its course in our lives.

Proverbs 16 tells us that "in his heart, a man plans his course but the LORD determines his steps." In the practicalities of life, we must all make plans. We must plan a course. This becomes more challenging for those of us who daily scrutinize and filter all that we plan unto the Father. And, if we're not careful, we'll become weighed down. This episode discusses how we can walk in the shalom of God as we journey through this life.

Of Yahweh God's many attributes and "facets", He is the perfect, loving Father. What a joy it is to be a child of the King! May we who are called according to His name rightly approach Him as He is.

This episode challenges us to examine our hearts and ways to see if there is any way in us that would reveal that we’re trying to get people to believe (and ultimately be) more like us. It would do us well to not simply use ourselves as the ruler and plum line for where we’re desiring to see people go, spiritually speaking. Messiah’s image is our goal and trajectory – for ourselves and all others.  

I've recently noted a shift in my thinking - in my perspective. It is absolutely a gift from the Father and little of my own doing. Let's shake off our own judgment and move forward anticipating God to rearrange our perspective and raise our expectations.

As my twenty year wedding anniversary arrives today, my heart is stirred toward the opportunity to live in the first love reality. What a blessing to daily walk in thankfulness and awe of all that the LORD has done on our behalf! And, what a challenge to practically do each day. We must set up a "stone of remembrance" and deliberately walk out our days, in love, in thankfulness, as in the place where we started.

An examination of some scriptural accounts of men who loved the LORD, and even zealously followed Him, yet were found opposing His will and ways. We must learn that we ourselves are prone to do likewise. I believe that if the Church moved out into humility and self-examination FIRST, the First Century Church would return to the earth.

In a present cultural climate where everyone seems to believe that they exist in order to expose everyone else's error, it would do us well to turn the spotlight on ourselves. In this episode, I choose to do just that and give us all a public example to follow. We can do  it, but it will cost us our own lives and reputation - which, the last time I checked is what we're called to do, in Christ.

As most listeners of this program know, this is our first year of keeping the biblical Feasts. Today, I'll be sharing what we're learning about, specifically, First Fruits, Days of Unleavened Bread and The Omer.
