Commentary: November 27, 2020

This episode is all over the place. In it we'll discuss, yet again, how this hour is full of endless opportunities for the Church to be sifted and remove Herself from the patterns of the world. Other topics include the importance of being honest with one another in an age of disappointment and how we are being pressed to "come out from among them" even further.

The Sovereignty of God

At the end of the book of Job, we see a man named Elihu come onto the scene and clearly speak the word of the LORD.  What was it?  God is perfectly sovereign and His ways are high above our own.  In this hour of so many people demanding justice, it would do us good to remember this ancient truth.  Are you walking in this level of dependence?

Surrendering Our Identity

lf we were honest, we would readily admit that it's hard to truly abandon our identity and personal image. But what if we could more readily abandon our drive to self-defend and justify? What if we walked away from the endless laboring to "make ourselves clear" in order to be rightly heard and understood? Today we'll attempt to break away a bit more from self.

The short series continues and concludes here as we continue looking into biblical counsel and instruction as we approach entitlement and national freedoms. Is the Church readily postured to confess Her own double standards and hypocrisy? Will this election (and what lies ahead for this nation) continue the Church's arrogance and haughtiness or will We be found as ones Who "will lead a peaceful, quiet, godly and dignified life", as Scripture instructs? There is hope for Us if - if - we will humble ourselves.
